We are looking forward to introducing our speaker  Karen Khaw, Director of Corporate Communications for Asia Pacific at BNY Mellon. The topic of Karen's first webinar will be

"Effective internal communications in the 'always live' world - what, why & how":

Social media, digital age, short attention span, new generations of employees - you have heard it all before. There is no doubt that we are now living in the 'always live' society where communication never sleeps (nor do people arguably). As communicators, the biggest question is often how can we adapt and what do we need to do on a practical level to adapt. The increasingly complex and constantly evolving landscape can either be the worst nightmare or best dream for communicators especially from an internal perspective. The choice is with communicators and it is not ‘one size fits all’ either.

First of its series, this webinar brings you a business case study sharing an approach to internal communications in the 'always live' society followed by an open discussion covering:

  • How to ensure there is a continuous flow of news to communicate to your employees? 
  • What is the role of internal communicators in this new environment? 
  • How to measure success in the 'always live' society? 

The Q&A session and discussion  will be moderated by our Internal Communication Working Group  Co-chair Rajesh Manik.

About our speaker:

Karen Khaw is the Director of Corporate Communications for Asia Pacific at BNY Mellon since 2011. In this role, Karen leads the regional external and internal communications program and is responsible for all communication strategies. Moving to Hong Kong from Sydney in 2006, she has over 16 years of Asia Pacific experience in advising, leading and realizing marketing and communications strategies in financial and professional services.  Before joining BNY Mellon, Karen had held various integrated communications and marketing roles at global companies including Societe Generale, law firm Baker & McKenzie, as well as having broad experience within the retail and institutional businesses of two of Australia’s major banks, Commonwealth Bank of Australia and Westpac Banking Corporation. At the end of 2014, she completed her first book project and published "Press * to engage" to share her other passion on the topic of employee engagement. In 2014, she led the BNY Mellon team to winning VMA’s inaugural Internal Communications showcase award. Karen graduated with a Bachelor of Economics degree from the University of New South Wales in Sydney, Australia and holds a MBA from the Macquarie Graduate School of Management.
