A panel discussion will feature the Japan Communications heads of LinkedIn and UBS with other speakers to be announced. They will discuss how social media can positively (and negatively) impact business.
APACD members as well as interested in-house communication colleauges are welcome to join. There will be plenty of networking, and light refreshments will be served.

About our speakers:
Rei Hasegawa joined LinkedIn Japan as the first local hire for its business launch in 2011. After leading marketing initiatives at LinkedIn Japan, her role transformed to Corporate Communications for educating and inspiring LinkedIn members via PR activities, social media, and training in Japan. She also worked on welcoming Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and other Japanese business leaders as LinkedIn Influencers in 2013. Since 2014, she has worked to spread awareness of LinkedIn and educate users by running tutorial sessions for journalists and corporate communications in the Asia Pacific region, as well as heading social media initiatives in the region. Prior to LinkedIn, Rei Hasegawa has worked for both B2C and B2B marketing in the IT industry, namely Google, SoftBank, and AT&T, for more than 17 years. She also has experience working at a startup company and holds an MBA from McGill University.
Jason Kendy leads UBS's internal and external Corporate Communications and Branding operations in Japan as well as Korea. Prior to joining UBS in 2011, he worked for 10 years at Merrill Lynch as its head of Japanese communications, branding, and reputation management. During his more than 25 years in Japan, he has advised a range of multinationals including Morgan Stanley, Deutsche Bank, Lehman Brothers, United Airlines, MUFG, Bank of Tokyo-Mitsubishi, Matsushita Electric, and Japan Tobacco. Earlier in his career, Jason also spent three years advising U.S. based corporations in New York. He is a fluent speaker of Japanese and has recently become an avid student of blues guitar.
